WELCOME TO JAM SESSION 01 – GETTING STARTED

Hi all! Jason and Angelina here!

We’re excited to share our first JAM Session with you. For a while now, we’ve tried to wake up before the kids to spend some time together. Our “morning meetings” usually consist of prayer, spending time in the word, figuring out what tasks need to be done, addressing issues, and figuring out what the day/week looks like. For over a year, we felt the Lord has been calling us to share some of this time with others.

JAM stands for Jason and Angelina Ministry. We believe we are called to share what we’ve learned with others and how God is working in our lives.

We’re submitting to what God has called us to do, to walk by faith, no matter how different or uncomfortable it may feel to us. Our prayer is that this message reaches you when and where you need it to. Our prayer is that by surrendering to His will for our life, we will grow better together and be a fierce force for good.

The following books, bible verses, and prompts are what we dived into today. I included the Jesus Calling Evening section here because our JAM Sessions are in the AM.

One Year Devotions For Couples

The One Year Devotions For Couples written by David Ferguson & Teresa Ferguson

“Accept one another, then, just as Christ has accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” Romans 15:7 NIV

“Lord, may my gratitude for Your unconditional acceptance of me prompt within me today a joyful acceptance of my spouse.”

In what ways can you continually remind yourself of your spouse’s true worth, despite that person’s imperfections?

Jesus Calling Morning & Evening written by Sarah Young

Morning

“Happy are those who worship you with songs, who live in the light of your kindness!” Psalm 89:15 GNT

“Go to the Lord for help; and worship him continually.” Psalm 105:4 GNT

“She had a sister named Mary, who sat down at the feet of the Lord and listened to his teaching. Martha was upset over all the work she had to do, so she came and said, ‘Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her to come and help me!’

The Lord answered her, ‘Martha, Martha! You are worried and troubled over so many things, but just one is needed. Mary has chosen the right thing, and it will not be taken away from her.’” – Luke 10:39-42 GNT

Evening

“O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you… I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.” – Psalm 63:1-5

“The mountains and hills may crumble, but my love for you will never end; I will keep forever my promise of peace.” So says the Lord who loves you.” – Isaiah 54:10 GNT

“Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” – Psalm 46:10 NASB

A SINGLE STEP

Since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” Hebrews 12:1

Father God, thank you for taking charge of my mess and helping me run my race with confidence. You are responsible for everything I am and ever hope to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Let me just say, it’s amazing what God will do when you let Him. I can say for a fact that when we don’t put Him first in our relationship and in our day, everything is off balance.

Today was our first day of recording and while it was a little awkward at times, I’m really glad we followed through. Subscribe to our YouTube channel or follow us on social media for updates on our next JAM Session!

I pray that our time together is fruitful and that we continue to submit to His will for our lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
